Lot Description

BB Die State IV. Handsome, fully original surfaces are dressed in warm mauve-gray patina that is a bit deeper on the reverse. We note universally bold detail at the Choice VF grade, this even despite a hint of striking softness in the centers. A pair of ancient marks in the right obverse field are generally lost in the toning, the in-hand appearance impressively smooth. For those who enjoy crusty classic U.S. Mint silver, this 1798 BB-96 will delight.
