- Lot Description
- Iridescent copper-gold toning is a bit mottled in distribution on the obverse. Boldly defined overall, some glossiness to the texture is noted for accuracy, but no singularly distracting marks are seen. Popular as a historic issue, the 1836 Reeded Edge is the first half dollar struck on the Mint's new steam coinage press. This is also a key date issue with survivors scarce to rare in all grades.
