A pleasing survivor of Old West commerce, one of only 150 or so examples thought to remain from a scant mintage of 16,980 pieces. Warm orange-gold and lighter silvery-olive colors grace surfaces that still retain hints of original mint frost. A touch of glossiness to the texture points to an old, light cleaning, but with no sizeable marks from its extensive period in circulation this coin will satisfy anyone who collects early date gold from this storied frontier mint.
