Lot Description

Elusive in all grades, the 1869 three-dollar gold was produced to the extent of just 2,500 circulation strikes, and survivors number fewer than 300 coins. They are scarce in Choice AU condition and considerably rare in Mint State, making this NGC AU-58 example an important offering. It is boldly defined overall with iridescent pinkish-rose highlights to dominant orange-olive gold color.
