1858 Pattern Flying Eagle Cent. Judd-193, Pollock-236. Rarity-5. Copper-Nickel. Plain Edge. Proof-65 Cameo (PCGS). Obv.: regular-issue type of the year with small letters. Rev.: experimental design having an oak wreath and remarkably broad shield. Boldly struck with frosty motifs. The fields have a texture intermediate between satiny and mirrorlike as is typical of many copper-nickel Proofs of the era. Partially brilliant surfaces with blushes of rose, violet, and blue.
