1878 Twenty-Cent Piece. Proof-65 (PCGS). More even olive-gray, silver-mauve and cobalt blue toning on the reverse gives way to mottled steel-olive and russet patina over antique silver on the obverse. This is a richly original specimen, and it is also a carefully preserved one with smooth and inviting surfaces. The popular and eagerly sought 1878 is a Proof-only issue from the final year of the twenty-cent series, the mintage just 600 coins. PCGS Population: 23; 18 finer in this category (Proof-67+ finest).
