1852-C Liberty Half Eagle. Winter Variety 2 (19-H). AU-58 (NGC). Trailing only the 1847-C in terms of overall availability in today's market, the 1852-C always represents an important offering for mintmarked gold type collectors. Appealing medium-gold surfaces to both sides, the present example also sports a sharp strike that presents very well in the absence of all but light rub. Most abrasions are small and singularly inconspicuous to the eye, while a more moderate size distraction is out of the way at the lower right obverse rim.
