- 1950 Jefferson Nickel. MS-67 5FS (NGC). This attractive Superb Gem not only shows the five steps, but they are crisp and free of any marks amid overall sharpness on Monticello's architectural features. Lustrous gold, lilac and tan toning adds to the eye appeal. The Nagengast reference suggests even five full steps are seen on only 1 of 150 examples, although that ratio is not necessarily so extreme at the highest grades. Just a single coin has been graded finer by NGC in this category. NGC Census: 5; 1 finer. PCGS# 84041. NGC ID: 22UE. Click here for certification details from NGC.
