Beautiful Gold Fantasy with Coiled Dragon and Double-Happiness Reverse Design (t) CHINA. Fantasy Gold Dollar, CD (1885). PCGS MS-61 Gold Shield. KMX-116; cf. K-B13; cf. WS-1349-6. Emperor Guang Xu issue. This attractive and intricately engraved design--struck in high relief--exhibits a young, expressive portrait of Emperor Guang Xu in traditional garb, while the reverse displays an ornate border consisting of the characters "Xixi" or double happiness with a coiled dragon in the center. Signs of handling are primarily contained in the open areas now with light, attractive, orange patina, and are entirely consistent with the grade assigned. Estimate: $15,000 - $30,000.
