Lot Description
Legend Auctions is honored to have been consigned this remarkable ULTRA high end GEM. It is SUPER HIGH END! Keep in mind that at one time it was an NGC PR67 CAM. For CAC to GOLD sticker it, you know the coin is truly special. Ultra-deep mirrors beam like a solar flare all over. We rarely have ever seen mirrors on any 1856 coin so dramatic; they have amazing clarity and nearly blinding reflection. Seeing is believing (and blinding)! There are some Mint made dies lines, but overall, the fields are super clean. A very light hint of ORIGINAL lilac toning covers parts of both sides. We bought it from a deal where it had been with the same family since it left the Mint! It came out of the middle of a cellophane wrapper. Miss Liberty and the details are pinpoint sharp in strike and have thick frost. The eye appeal is spectacular! Less than 20 are believed to have been minted. PCGS 4, NGC 1, CAC 3. This is the ONLY CAC-GOLD stickered example. A non-CAC PCGS PR66+ CAM sold for $12,925 in February 2017, and the current Collector's Universe price is $17,500. Keep in mind that the GOLD CAC means that it should sticker with a green bean at the next grade up, (i.e. PR67 CAM). PCGS has not graded anything finer and with its gold CAC, it is almost a certainty that this is the FINEST 1856 Proof half dime that exists. Chances of ever finding another so fresh and original are slim. A coin like this could sell for crazy money in auction-so be prepared! Cert. Number 30773135 PCGS # 84434
