Fully struck, as befits the method of manufacture, with flashy Proof reflectivity under a light. The overall appearance, however, is dominated by wonderfully original toning in iridescent silver-rose, olive-orange, mauve-gray and powder blue. While not among the rarest Proof half dollars of this type in an absolute sense - the mintage is 727 pieces - we have offered remarkably few Gem-quality examples of the 1905 in recent years. The Abigail specimen is one of the highest graded to appear in our sales in the last decade.
