- 1858-C Liberty Head Quarter Eagle. Winter-1, the only known dies. AU-53 (NGC). A boldly to sharply defined C-Mint gold coin with warm honey-olive and rose-orange patina over both sides. Only 9,056 quarter eagles were produced at the Charlotte Mint in 1858 with today's typical survivor most apt to be VF or marginally finer. This conditionally scarce About Uncirculated example is one that will experience strong bidding activity due, in part, to its exceptional eye appeal. Provenance: From the Augustana Collection. PCGS# 7787. NGC ID: 25JH. To view all items from the Augustana Collection, click here. Click here for certification details from NGC.
