Lot Description

An unusually nice looking example of this important major variety among Fugio cents. Glossy and smooth autumn-orange brown with blushes and streaks of warmer olive-copper. The eye appeal is superb. Centering is good, even if the rings are flush with the border at upper left reverse, and there are no blemishes of note apart from a few minor flan flaws within the rings in the same area. The die state is late with extensive clashing on the obverse and the reverse prominently cracked through ring 9. One of the sharpest and prettiest examples we've ever offered for a Newman 10-T 1/Horizontal 1 in certified Choice EF, this piece is worthy of a strong premium.
