Lot Description

Manley Die State 3.0. This is the scarce terminal state of the die pairing, the reverse with an arcing crack from the border between the words UNITED and STATES, to the border outside the letter O in OF. Both sides are warmly toned in gently mottled gray-brown iridescence through which plenty of vivid pinkish-orange mint color shines as the coin rotates under a light. Boldly to sharply struck with nicely composed, fully Choice Mint State surfaces. An excellent Classic Head half cent type candidate that is likely from the Elmer Sears hoard discovered circa 1935, which included numerous Mint State 1835 C-1 and C-2 half cents.
