Tompkins Die Stage 4/3, Rea et al. Die State d. This is the rarest die state of the otherwise readily obtainable 1834 Browning-4 quarter, and it is easiest to identify by the presence of bars at Liberty's ear from obverse die clash. A super crusty Choice VF coin, both sides of this piece are deeply toned in a blend of deep sandy-gray and steely-charcoal.
Steve M. Tompkins Commentary: What a crusty and original coin, and a rare die stage to boot. What's not to like?
