Lot Description

Attractive bright honey-gold color with hints of pinkish-rose and olive iridescence discernible under direct lighting. The surfaces are remarkably smooth for a lightly circulated example of this type, both sides free of sizeable or otherwise singularly distracting marks. Faint hairlines and a somewhat glossy texture are noted for accuracy, although appreciable frosty luster remains to further endear this coin to advanced territorial gold collectors. If the PCGS AU-58 example in the preceding lot proves elusive, the current offering of a scarce AU-50 certified by the same service represents a second fleeting bidding opportunity for advanced collectors of privately issued Gold Rush era coinage.
