1860-S Three-Dollar Gold Piece. EF-45 (PCGS). CAC. Warm orange-gold patina blankets both sides and accents overall bold definition. Faint remnants of satin luster are discernible upon close inspection, and a lack of singularly distracting abrasions is also a rare attribute in an 1860-S three. This is an elusive and conditionally challenging issue, the net mintage a mere 4,408 pieces after 2,592 examples were melted in the San Francisco Mint.
