Lot Description

A glorious Gem that offers significant condition rarity for both the type and issue. Richly original in preservation, as well, otherwise pearl gray surfaces are further enhanced by blushes of olive-russet and steel-blue. Soft mint luster and a razor sharp strike are seen throughout. Although the mintage for the circulation strike 1875 half dollar was more than 6 million pieces, Choice Mint State survivors are scarce while upper end Gems, as here, are rare. Ideally suited for inclusion in a collection where a single high quality example of the No Motto Liberty Seated half dollar design type is required.
