1837 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-8. Rarity-1. Plain Cord, Medium Letters. MS-63 BN (NGC). Delightful golden-tan throughout with tinges of pale blue in the recesses of the design. Lustrous in the fields and free of specks or spots, with no mottling to the color. The strike is fairly sharp, particularly on the central devices. One thin die crack arcs through STATES OF to the rims, and heavy die lines are found above ERICA. Not particularly rare, but quite handsome.
