CHINA. Tibet. Tangka, "BE 16-61" (1880-1912). PCGS AU-55. L&M-626; KM-C-27.1; cf. WS-0267. "Ranjana" series, with small circle around lotus. Sharply struck with evident luster remaining in the design recesses and a small area of oxidation on the far edge from 9 to 11 o'clock on the lotus side that should prove useful for future identification. Produced with a meaningless date, the last example we offered dated as such was a PCGS EF-40 that realized $1,680 in September 2021, it once being part of Nicholas Rhodes collection.
