- 1799 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. BB-166, B-9. Rarity-1. EF-40 (PCGS). CAC. A pleasing, original mauve-gray example with blushes of olive and russet here and there, as well as uniformly bold EF detail throughout. Bowers-Borckardt 166 vies with BB-163 as the most plentiful die marriage of the 1799 Draped Bust silver dollar. This is the popular Apostrophe variety, so named because of the die break on the reverse after the final letter S in STATES seen on all but the earliest die state examples. BB Die State IV. Provenance: From the Kohler Wisconsin Collection. PCGS# 6878. NGC ID: 24X7. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
