Traces of faded pinkish-rose mint color persist at the right obverse (especially) and reverse peripheries, but this is a predominantly toned coin dressed in richly original autumn-orange and rose-brown. It is also a boldly struck and frosty piece whose smooth surfaces would have needed just a little more "flash" to have secured a Gem Mint State grade. Exceptionally nice in MS-64 BN, as such, and worthy of strong bids. Repunching to the letters D in STATES, ES in STATES, M in AMERICA, and a patch of die rust around the letters CE in CENT readily identify this reverse die, which was used only in the 1832 Cohen-3 pairing.
