1859 Pattern Half Dollar. Judd-239, Pollock-295. Rarity-4. Proof-64 (NGC). Silver. Reeded edge. James B. Longacre's French Liberty Head, right, date below, legends around. The reverse features the "Wreath of Cereals", with the denomination given as a fraction. A lovely satin finish on the devices, lustrous and glistening. The fields are somewhat reflective upon first glance, but filled with fine die polishing striations under close inspection. Pleasing silver surfaces with faint and attractive pastel mottling.
