Lot Description
Legend Rare Coin Auctions is proud to offer this very rare and beautiful coin. This is one of the FINEST C Mint pieces still in existence! Both sides are just about fully proof-like. The mirrors are strong, clear, and have really flashy reflectivity-no tilting needed. There are a few LIGHT and tiny lines and ticks scattered about. NOTHING is focal or large. The color is a totally original bright yellow gold that mixes with some orange/reddish gold toning. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is surprisingly spectacular! PCGS 5 NGC 9, CAC 2. This coin is tied for FINEST beaned at CAC. The last one of these to appear and sell in a major auction was a NON-CAC PCGS piece. It brought $40,250 in April 2008. That is now 15 years ago! The current Collectors Universe value is $60,000. This piece represents an opportunity of a lifetime for any collector of Southern gold-or someone building a box of 20. It should also be noted that a PCGS MS63+ sold for $33,600 in January 2022. Good luck ever finding another one that is graded right. We expect strong bidding here, so be prepared! Cert. Number 37817314 PCGS # 8251
