로트 설명

1898 Liberty Half Eagle. MS-67 (NGC). A satiny, highly lustrous Gem with a bold strike and exquisite eye appeal. Swirling cartwheel luster sets the tone on this honey gold beauty while varied golden hues creep slowly into the mix. We find it difficult to imagine a finer half eagle for the date, and evidently NGC shares the same difficultly--the present beauty is tied for finest certified of the date by NGC with just one other specimen. Don't miss this opportunity.

Numismatic Reflections by Q. David Bowers
With regard to circulation strike Liberty half eagles, this seems to be about the limit for technical quality and eye appeal—--the finest that can be found at NGC, and elusive at PCGS as well. This is a true “find” for the connoisseur.
