Lot Description

Heck DS5, Breen Die State VI. With an EAC grade of VG-8, this glossy olive-copper example ranks within the top two dozen or so known for the variety. Boldly defined despite moderately heavy wear, the strike is well centered and nicely executed overall. Light marks and other blemishes are scattered about, commensurate with the grade, none apart from a shallow void in the lower left obverse field worthy of individual mention. Seldom encountered at all, and when an example of Sheldon-35 is, it is apt to be impaired. Astute large cent enthusiasts would be wise to focus on the Widmer Family specimen with its combination of ample remaining detail and pleasing surfaces.
