로트 설명

Delivering some 300,000 twenty-dollar gold pieces from February 9, 1854 through 1855, the firm of Kellogg & Co. helped bridge the gap when Californians were awaiting the official opening of the San Francisco Mint. As such, it ranks with Moffat & Co. and the United States Assay Office of Gold as one of the most important private minting establishments of the California Gold Rush. This sharply to fully rendered first year 1854 example presents as little enough worn to support an AU grade as far as details are concerned. Scattered hairlines and a light scuff low in the left obverse field are noted, however, and suggest that EF-45 is a net grade from PCGS. Bright golden-honey color with plenty of frosty luster shining forth nicely as the surfaces rotate under lighting.
