Pleasingly original surfaces are toned in a gentle marbling of medium and autumn-brown. A few ancient carbon spots are evident on the obverse, another on the reverse at the upper left corner of the shield, several faint pin scratches in and around the centers on both sides are far less evident during in hand viewing. Well centered in strike, there is isolated softness, most notably at the word GOD on the reverse, but the overall design is suitably bold for the grade, and also fully appreciable. This is a nice mid-grade Elephant that will nicely represent the type in many collections.
