Lot Description

Struck prominently off center on both sides, although this feature is not noted on the PCGS insert. Obverse impression off center 2 o'clock with the border tight to the top of the effigy's head and most of the letters in CONNEC fully off the flan, lip of virgin flan remains outside the denticles from 5 to 11 o'clock. Reverse off center to 3 o'clock with only the very bottoms of the letters in LIB visible, border unusually wide outside the words INDE ET, the letters in which are soft at tops. Those features that are fully present show some softness of strike, but are suitably bold and fully appreciable. Nice surfaces are hard and frosty with no significant blemishes, handsome color in olive-brown on the reverse, lighter blend of olive and rose-brown on the obverse.
