Lot Description

This is a well centered, near-universally bold example with a fully denticulated border around the obverse, reverse lacking most denticulation but with only minor softness to the top of a few peripheral letters. The date is bold with hints of denticles below and around. Central softness is minimal for the variety, trace of original planchet texture remains within the effigy on the obverse. Handsome deep autumn-orange and olive-brown patina provides an attractively original appearance to surfaces that show just a hint of microroughness that is easily overlooked in most viewing situations, single light spot on the reverse at the letters IB in LIB, no troublesome marks.
