- 1853 Liberty Head Half Eagle. MS-60 (PCGS). This attractive half eagle is satiny in texture with vivid pinkish-honey patina on both sides. Sharply struck. Although plentiful in worn condition, the 1853 is similar to other Philadelphia Mint issues of the era in that it develops into a significant condition rarity in Mint State.
