With a generous mintage of 2,225,000 circulation strikes, the 1838 is one of the more readily obtainable issues from the early Liberty Seated half dime series. Premium Gems such as this are scarce from a condition standpoint, however, and the brevity of the No Drapery, Stars Obverse design type keeps demand high.
