Lot Description

This lustrous and appealing coin exhibits vivid orange-olive and pinkish-rose colors to both sides. During a decade of relatively tiny mintages, the 1887 $3 stepped up to the plate and was produced to the tune of 6,000 pieces, the highest in the series since the 1878 coinage. Pleasing for the grade in all respects.
