Manley Die State 1.0. With steely-rose and golden-blue iridescence to frosty, minimally marked, near-Gem surfaces. Isolated peripheral softness is typical for this variety, the detail sharp to full elsewhere. Cohen-3 is the last variety produced for the 1809 half cent, combining a new obverse die with the resurrected reverse of the C-2 pairing to strike the 578,000 coins delivered from October to December of that year. While not the most plentiful variety of the issue in Mint State, enough Uncirculated coins are extant to also make C-3 popular with high grade type and date collectors. This is a particularly flashy piece in NGC MS-64+ BN that will catch the eye of many bidders.
