1852-C Liberty Head Half Eagle. Winter-1. MS-61 (PCGS). Of the perhaps more than 1,000 1852-C half eagles remaining today, relatively few are in Mint State. The offered coin is an attractive example, with much luster still remaining and with significantly above average striking sharpness. The color is a rich green-gold with some indications of orange. Certainly a well preserved Uncirculated example from the early Charlotte Mint. Provenance: From the Augustana Collection. PCGS Population: 12; 15 finer (MS-64 finest). PCGS# 8251. NGC ID: 25UB.
