CHINA. Kirin. 3 Mace 6 Candareens (50 Cents), CD (1901). Kirin Mint. Kuang-hsu (Guangxu). NGC MS-63. L&M-538; K-431; KM-Y-182A.1; cf. WS-0438. Variety without dot in Manchu script and with inverted "A" in place of "V" in "PROVINCE". A wonderfully wholesome example of this SCARCE variety. While it exhibits a lovely burnished gray tone, an abundance of original luster emanates from the fields. The well-produced strike delivers sharp details with minimal evidence of handling.
