- 1908-S Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle. AG-3 (PCGS). An exciting offering for specialists in the Low Ball category on the PCGS Set Registry, Saint-Gaudens double eagles of any issue are rarely found in grades such as this. The fact that this coin is an example of the key date 1908-S (just 22,000 coins struck) is of even greater significance. Likely a pocket piece, wear is commensurate with the assigned grade, but most major design elements are discernible, including the date and mintmark. Several tiny carbon spots are scattered about on both sides, and they are mentioned here solely for accuracy. PCGS# 9149. NGC ID: 26FA. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
