로트 설명

1809 Capped Bust Dime. JR-1, the only known dies. Rarity-3+. VF-35 (PCGS). Splashes of olive-blue and reddish-russet enliven a base of pewter gray patina. A thin strike through at the digit 9 in the date and Liberty's lowest hair curl is as made, the surfaces smooth in hand as far as handling marks are concerned. Popular as the premier issue in the Capped Bust dime series, the 1809 is also fairly scarce with just 200 to 300 coins extant from a modest mintage of 51,065 pieces. All known examples were produced from a single die pair. Provenance: From the E. Horatio Morgan Collection. PCGS# 4486. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
