PCGS Continues to Provide Superior Services with New Prices & Policies in 2020

(HONG KONG) Starting from January 20, 2020, PCGS Asia (www.PCGSasia.com) will implement new grading fees and service policies for coin, banknote and restoration grading services.

  • For coin grading service, the rare service level is cancelled, genuine with no details is cancelled, no additional fee will be charge for double thick holder.
  • For coin crossover service, you can set an expected minimum score (The score can be either higher than or lower than the score on the existing holder). PCGS will holder the coin only if it meets or exceeds your specific request.
  • The fees of banknote grading services are synchronized with that of the United States. The original rare service level is replaced by the rarity service level. Special Issue, Bulk Consecutive and High Value Reholder service levels have been added. The prices of all service levels have been adjusted accordingly.
  • New Banknote Crossover Service: the original OPQ designation will be replaced by PPQ designation.

†The guarantee premium fee shall equal to 1% of the value of the coin in its final grade. The value of the coin is determined by the PCGS Price Guide value for that grade or the Declared Value of the coin, if the Price Guide value is not available. The minimum amount for the Guarantee Premium is USD 5. PCGS reserves the right to make the final determination of the coin’s value.

  • If you select Rarity service level, you will be charged a guarantee premium fee equal to 1% of the value of the coin in its final grade.
  • If you select Regrade service, you will be charged a guarantee premium fee equal to 1% of the value of the coin in its final grade when the coin is graded to a higher score.
  • If you select Crossover service, you can set an expected minimum score on the front of the form. (The score can be either higher than or lower than the score on the existing holder). PCGS will holder the coin only if it meets or exceeds your specific request notated in the minimum grade column on the form. If the coin is crossed over to PCGS holder, you will be charged a guarantee premium fee equal to 1% of the value of the coin in its final grade.
  • If there is overlap among Rarity, Regrade and Crossover services, the guarantee premium fee will be charged for only once.

Specimen, proof, essays and notes not listed in major catalogs (i.e. Standard Catalog of World Paper Money, Friedberg, Haxby, Criswell, etc.) must submit to Special Issues** or higher. Error notes and Small Commercial (private) issue notes must submit to Special Issues** or higher level, an additional fee of USD 15 per Error note will apply. A USD 10 per banknote Handling Fee is applied to all submissions. Variety plus fee and Mint Error fee are non-refundable.

If you select Banknote Crossover service, Banknotes that are currently encapsulated by other grading services may have issues that are not discovered until the banknotes are removed from their current holders. Therefore, PCGS cannot guarantee that a note will not downgrade once we remove it from the original holder.

Non-restorable coins, normal grading fees apply in addition to the USD 10 Evaluation Fee (For coins PCGS determines will not benefit from being restored, nor should be restored).

The value of the coin is determined by the PCGS Price Guide value for that grade or the Declared Value of the coin (GP minimum of USD 10), if the Price Guide value is not available. PCGS reserves the right to make the final determination of the coin’s value.

  • USD 10 evaluation fee applied to coins deemed non-restorable by our restoration team (GP minimum of USD 10)
  • A Handling Fee of USD 10 plus USD 1 per coin applies to all submissions.
  • For coins that require the use of an oversized holder, there is an additional fee of USD 10 per coin.
  • Mint Error Fee is an additional fee of USD 15 per coin. Variety Plus Fee is an additional fee of USD 15 per coin. TrueView℠ Fee is an additional fee of USD 10 per coin.

Variety Plus fee and Mint Error fee are non-refundable.
