Asia A Message from the CEO of Collectors Universe

(Santa Ana, California) November 15, 2018 – Professional Coin Grading Service (www.PCGS.com) has announced the resignation of Don Willis who served as PCGS President since 2008.

“We sincerely thank Don for his service during the past 10 years and appreciate his contributions to the company, the hobby and the profession,” stated Joe Orlando, President and Chief Executive Officer of Collectors Universe, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLCT), parent company of PCGS. Collectors Universe is the leader in third-party authentication and grading services for high-value collectibles including rare coins, trading cards, tickets, autographs, and memorabilia.

“Change. In general, very few people like it. This includes me. It’s the way we are wired as human beings, but change is a natural part of life and certainly of business. What I learned above all else is that this is a team, a company filled with people who work hard every day to deliver a quality service and a premium product. This includes dozens of people behind the scenes, from our full-time expert graders to operations and customer service personnel who many of our customers do not know. It is the totality of this effort that makes our brands, PSA and PCGS, bigger than any individual. That is what a great brand is.” Joe Orlando said.

So, while Joe Orlando will be stepping in to oversee the executive needs of PCGS in the interim, the hardworking team that has been making things happen will continue to do so.

Things change. People come and go, in every business. What’s most important is that the ever-evolving team produces the kind of quality and expertise that you, our customers, demand. Our goal at PCGS is to not only maintain the brand, we want to improve it. After 32 years, how do we do that? By listening to our customers, improving communication, staying innovative and investing in the future.

“In addition to further developing our current team, we will be adding new talent to PCGS as part of our long-term investment in providing outstanding products and services. We eagerly look forward to 2019 as an exciting year for us and our worldwide customers,” Orlando stated. "Since its founding in 1986, Professional Coin Grading Service has represented the industry standard in third-party certification. PCGS provides outstanding service to collectors and dealers around the world through our offices in the United States, Paris, Shanghai, and Hong Kong as well as on-site service at major coin shows,” he added.
